On the 13th of October 2018 (Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day) saw the Advanced Breast Cancer Group hold the regular Workshop for Women, Partners, Families and Friends. The workshop was a great success, with members and families attending, although we did miss those women who weren’t able to be there this time.
Assoc. Professor Marina Reeves from the Cancer Prevention Research Centre, School of Public Health, spoke and answered questions on the benefits of diet and exercise amongst women with metastatic breast cancer.
Dr Robyn Cheuk, Senior Radiation Oncologist, Cancer Care Services RBWH, spoke and answered questions about aspects of radiation treatment.
After lunch Bernard Houston held a Show and Tell session, repeated by popular demand. Everyone was asked to bring an item showing or illustrating a hobby or interest. This was very well received and many great stories were told.
Thanks to everyone for your participation in this.
And thank you to all those who attended and were involved in the organisation of such a great workshop.
