On the 9th of April 2016 saw Advanced Breast Cancer Group hold the regular Workshop for Women, Partners, Families and Friends. The workshop was a great success with many members and their family attending.
The day featured Associate Professor Nicole McCarthy, a senior medical oncologist at RBWH answering questions about the disease and current treatments. This was followed by Dr Robyn Box who is a physiotherapist who works with women with breast cancer, in the areas of exercise and movement, as well as having expertise in the area of lymphedema. Robyn answered questions about exercise and movement, and offered practical suggestions and demonstrations.
After lunch was a filmed discussion about the impact of secondary breast cancer. Video of this creative session will be used for a new DVD that is currently in production.
Thank you to all those who attended and were involved in the organisation of such a great workshop.
